June Bartlett Johnston,
May 25, 1925 to July 21, 2014
After a long and difficult struggle with cancer, June Bartlett Johnston passed away in her home with her family by her side. June is survived by her beloved daughter Sherry Potter and her husband Drew Potter of Gananoque, her son Robert Johnston of Seeley’s Bay, her extended daughter Odette Rouleau of Lyndhurst, her Granddaughter Heidi Hibbert and her husband Sean Hibbert and their children Emily and Nicolas Hibbert of Belleville
Predeceased by: her husband of 62 years, James Hamilton Johnston, June’s Mother, Ellen Marguerite (Bartlett) Johnson and Father Lorne Isaac Johnson, Sisters, Marguerite Louise Johnson and Margaret (Betty) Thomas.
June enjoyed world traveling with her husband and friends, an avid bridge player who loved duplicate bridge, loved to read, an accomplished equestrian horse rider and an animal lover, especially her dogs. Beta Sigma Phi Member for 68 years, beginning her affiliation in Vancouver, moving then to Ottawa and again to the Gananoque chapter. Long and successful career with the Public Service Commission ending her career at the Privy Council Office in Ottawa upon retirement in 1991 Member of the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary Branch 589 (Osgoode) since 1991 before moving to Gananoque in 2011 to live with her daughter and son-in-law.
The Family wish to thank the staff on Connell 9 at KGH during her stay, South East CCAC, Brockville & District Hospice Palliative Care Services, Bayshore Home Health Nurses, PSW’s from the Brockville Red Cross Community Health Services, Shoppers Drug Mart Gananoque, Medical Arts Pharmacy Kingston and Ontario Medical Supply Delivery , whom without their dedication and professionalism over the past 8 months it would not have been possible for June to stay in her own home where her family were constant guardians during her illness.

Donations to your local ASPC to help those animals who cannot help themselves would make June happy as she was a true lover of all animals.
